The reticle is illuminated by a red LED, powered by a readily-available AA battery with a runtime of over 12,000 hours on a medium brightness setting. Six intensity levels enable the user to tailor the brightness to the lighting conditions. Intermediate "off" positions between each intensity allows the scope to be quickly turned off and to return to the preferred intensity without having to cycle to it. The reticle's aiming point can be adjusted in 1/2 MOA increments, and an internal adjustment mechanism allows the ACOG to reliably hold zero. The ACOG is outfitted with a TA51 mount that has two thumbscrews for attachment to a Picatinny rail. Complementing the ACOG's optical system and caliber-specific ballistic reticle is a nitrogen-filled, aluminum housing with a scratch and corrosion-resistant hard-anodized matte-black finish that provides the durability needed for reliable performance in a wide range of shooting conditions.
